North Caucasus – Krasnodar region – Sochi Exclusive 7-day tour

If you ask Russians about North Caucasus and Krasnodar region (Great Sochi especially), you will learn that most of them consider these areas the perfect places for an ideal summer rest and relaxation. However, experienced tourists know – this region is a real land of nature treasures – unique parks with year-round flowering shrubs, tropical trees and flowers, historical monuments, splendid mountains with water-falls and rivers, ancient monasteries and modern hi-tech buildings…whatnot! During this 7-day tour you will visit most of the sights there and, sure, rest on the seashore.

DAY 1

After check- in at the hotel and dinner you’ll meet with your guide. He will give you the brief review of the region climate; tell some facts concerning cultural heritage of Great Sochi and territorial features of the resort.

Then you will start the most exciting 4-5 hours car tour. Coming to the historical center of Great Sochi, you’ll listen to the guide story about Soviet period of the resort, stroll through the territory of the Ordzhonikidze sanatorium, learn about where the Stalin Empire and see architectural masterpieces of that time.

On the return to the city centre, you’ll have an excursion to Ostrovsky villa-museum of Ostrovsky, famous Soviet writer.

Returning to your hotel by bus, you will see contemporary buildings of the central part of Sochi, making it looking like Russian Dubai, take photos of 3 “business cards” of the city: the Seaport building, Sochi railway station and the Winter Theater.

After dinner you have leisure time: use it to swim in the sea and relax on the beach when you take tour in May – October, or just walk along Sochi embankment watching the gorgeous beauty of the Black sea (in winter period).

DAY 2

The day program will last 5-6 hours. You will see Sochi from a bird’s-eye view – a fantastic trip to the top of Akhun Mountain (663 meters height) is waiting for you! Reaching to the observation tower on the Great Akhun Mountain, you will see the magnificent panoramic views – mountains, surrounding you, clouds that are so close, the sea, small houses down, green parks. In clear weather you will see all of Sochi – from Imeretinka to Dagomys, and even the Pitsunda in Abkhazia. After you enjoy the bewitching view of Waterfalls on the river Zmeika, you’ll have a picnic on the bank of a mountain river.

During the trip you will visit the Matsesta Valley, see the famous 4th bathroom building, find out why the building has the shape of the Russian letter “Ж”, get acquainted with the mineral springs of Matsesta sources is the first bathing procedures of the holiday resort.

On the return to your hotel, better spend your free time on the nature, relaxing near the sea or in parks. Meanwhile, you can go to Sochi Aquarium Dolphinarium.

DAY 3

Today’s 7-8 hours tour is a hidden dream of many travelers, who come to Sochi. You’ll go to Krasnaya Polyana and the Olympic Park and Olympic Village built for 2014 Winter Olympics. You will visit the Ahshtyr canyon, the observation deck of the Ahtsu Mountain Gorge, the waterfall of the Virgin’s tears, Dolmen complex Middle Bronze Age architectural monument, Rosa Khutor ski resort. You will not leave these places without cute souvenirs that will remind you always about your Sochi adventures. Tourists wishing to see more amazing views can go to the top of the Mount Aibga.

After the excursions are finished, you can stay more in Olympic Park for the fountains show or return to your hotel.

DAY 4

This day is a great option for tourists adoring independent trips. Optionally, you can book a tour of the Golden Ring of Abkhazia and Gagra, Lake Ritsa, Novy Afon Monastery and Novy Afon caves, walk along the Sochi National Park and see the waterfalls and mysterious waters of the river Ahava. Use this time to fill it with positive emotions that will return to you each time you think about this trip.

DAY 5

In clear, non-rainy weather, you’ll rest at the seaside. Then the Sochi Dendrarium in Adler Park is waiting for you. You’ll see camellias, leafless magnolias, palm trees and listen to the guide story telling you curious facts about this huge park history.

After dinner you’ll go to the heart of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, the Yew-and-Boxwood grove. You’ll be amazed by the beauty of Eastern Hosta Canyon and admire the panorama of the gorge and the unique vegetation of the region. Finally, Russian hot steam bath will help you to relax after a long journey.

Coming to your hotel, use your free after-dinner time as you like.

DAY 6

This day will be devoted to Christian history of the area. Sochi is a unique region – Christianity appeared there long before Rus was baptized. You’ll see the ruins of Loo, the ancient temple in, visit the Mikhailovsky, Vladimir cathedrals, visit the temple of St. Panteleimon and the Holy Virgin church. The program that lasts 5-6 hours, will end in the city centre, and soon you’ll return to the hotel to rest and enjoy leisure time.

DAY 7

After breakfast you’ll have time to farewell with the hospitable hotel staff and have a check-out. However, your tour will not end with it – you will travel to a distant village Vorontsovka. The famous Vorontsovskie caves (11 kilometers length) will astonish you with their beauty.

Returning to civilization, you’ll visit cozy Hosta tea factory, learn about the technology of growing tea and try a variety of famous tea growing in this area. If you purchase the souvenir products of the factory, on your return home, you’ll treat your buddies and family with this wonderful drink.

The tour ends at 4.PM.
